January 27, 20:  If you answer the phone and hear a recorded message instead of a live person, it is called a "robocall" as in Robot.  I have three phone numbers, a land line, a mobile phone and a "Google Voice" phone number.  I give my friends who I want to pick up calls for my Google Voice number.  That number calls both my home and cell phone at the same time while showing me who is calling.  If they are in my phone book, I'll answer. Otherwise it goes through to voicemail and I get a transcript of the message.
Don't let them cheat you or gain your personal information like your credit card number!

  

Robocall Transcript for message from (877) 344-3305:
"This message is intended to contact you regarding an enforcement action executed by the US Treasury intending your serious attention ignoring. This will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before a Magistrate Judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense. This is the final attempt to reach you. To resolve this issue immediately and to speak to a federal agent, press one. I repeat to speak to a federal agent, press one."

A big clue to scams is the poor English...
