August 8,
2011: This is a list of the US companies that have a
AAA rating with Standard and Poors (S&P) after S&P downgraded
US Treasury debt to AA+.
Today S&P reaffirmed the AAA rating for these four companies:
The last major U.S. institution to lose its AAA credit rating was Warren Buffet’s investment firm Berkshire Hathaway (BRKA). BRKA lost its AAA rating, in 2010. S&P also said AA+ rated General Electric (GE) & WW Granger (GWW) will not be affected by their downgrade of US Treasury debt. Conspicously absent from this list was Berkshire Hathaway.
