January 7, 2016: Today I moved money from a savings account that was only paying 0.75% to Star One where I will get 0.85%.   The best rate available today is 1.05% HERE.

It is a good idea to have CDs in several banks, especially if you hare more money than the FDIC limit.   I also like to have most of my money in banks and credit unions where I can walk in and get my money should there be some disaster or attack on the banking system, perhaps taking down the internet.
